Gonzaga's women's team continued its slow but steady climb to national prominence, moving up to No. 22 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll on Monday – the team's highest ranking in school history. Washington State's April Cook did what no other Cougar has done in four years.  The sophomore guard was named the Pac-10's Women's Basketball Player of the Week after helping the Cougars to their first league win of the season. Cook, originally from Carson, Calif., scored a career-high 33 points against Arizona State on Saturday, lifting the Cougars past the Sun Devils 66-62. More>>

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Super Bowl was watched by more than 106 million people, surpassing the 1983 finale of "M-A-S-H" to become the most-watched program in television history. The Nielsen Co. estimated Monday that 106.5 million people watched the New Orleans Saints upset the Indianapolis Colts. SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane can apparently do what no other city in America has been able to duplicate. The 2010 U.S. Figure Skating Championships held in the Lilac City set another attendance record – a record the city helped set in 2007. That means Spokane now holds the top two attendance numbers in Championship history.  Attendance for the most recent event that took place Jan. 14-24 at Spokane Arena totaled 158,170, besting the record set by Spokane in 2007 of 154,389. Wins over Saint Mary's and San Diego propelled Gonzaga up two more spots in the latest AP Top 25 poll. The Zags were ranked No. 15 in the poll released Monday morning.The Zags earned their sixth straight victory Saturday, beating San Diego 68-50.  Freshman Elias Harris led the way with 20 points and Steven Gray added 17.  Demetri Goodson and Matt Bouldin had 12 points for the Bulldogs, who remain undefeated in conference play.
