Seahawks add 6 more free agents

Posted: Updated:

RENTON, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks were busy on Tuesday, coming to terms with six undrafted free agents.

Michael Bennett - DE - Texas A&M
Michael Bennett recorded 136 tackles over his career with the Texas A&M Aggies.  He forced 4 fumbles and had one interception (in last season's game against Texas Tech).  Scouts called him very athletic and liked his size and strength.  They said his weakness was his speed - or lack thereof.  Some questioned his work ethic.  His brother plays tight end for the Dallas Cowboys.

Tony Fein - LB - Mississippi
Coming to Seattle is a homecoming of sorts for Tony Fein.  The 6-foot-2 linebacker from Ole Miss was born in Port Orchard, WA.

Devin Moore - RB - Wyoming
Scouts say Devin Moore's greatest upside is his speed.  He's also very quick and agile, has good vision and great hands.  They like his work ethic and his special teams ability.  He doesn't have great size, however, and he probably isn't one to break a lot of tackles.

Dave Philistin - LB - Maryland
Dave Philstin is a sure tackler who has great speed and athleticism, but lacks the size to play inside linebacker in the NFL.  His claim to fame: he recorded 22 tackles in a single game against Georgia Tech.

Andre Ramsey - T - Ball State
Andre Ramsey started in all 14 games as a senior at Ball State.  He was part of an offensive line that ranked first in the Mid-American Conference and fourth in the nation for fewest sacks allowed.  He blocked for a team that was 24th in the nation in passing and helped his team's running back set a single-season record with 1,736 yards.

Tyler Roehl - RB - North Dakota State
Tyler Roehl, after sitting out 2005 because of an injury, returned to be a major contributor for North Dakota State, running for 1,431 in 2007 and scoring 21 touchdowns.  He's a big and physical player with decent speed who can play the fullback position.

The Seahawks signed former Carolina Panther Ken Lucas earlier this week to a one-year contract.  Lucas started his NFL career in Seattle in 2001.
