SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - An 18-year-old man is in custody and a second man is being sought by detectives in connection with a crime spree Wednesday in which cash, electronics, cigarettes and bottles of alcohol were stolen in three commercial burglaries.

Jesse Leroy Brown was arrested on a misdemeanor Game Violation warrant shortly before midnight when he got drunk on stolen booze and began bragging to others about breaking into Hotteez Bar, 20 N. Raymond and the Broadway Mini-Mart at 10304 E. Broadway.

Detectives report that Brown and his partner in the burglaries, 21-year-old Leon M. Gibson, also broke into the Beyond Glass Gallery at 12021 E. Sprague in a failed attempt to burglarize the adjacent Puffin Glass business.  The two were unable to kick their way through drywall-composition walls between the two firms.

Brown was taken to the Spokane County Jail early Thursday and booked on his fishing warrant and three counts of Second-Degree Burglary.  Probable cause exists to charge Gibson with the same felonies.

Aided by the sheriff's Property Crimes Task Force, Spokane Valley Detectives Dale Toliver, Dean Meyer and Kirk Keyser executed a search warrant on Gibson's home at 10515 E. Main shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday.

They recovered about 50 bottles of alcohol taken in the Hotteez burglary, but did not find Gibson.  Stolen computers, flat-screen televisions, a laptop and other property were recovered afterward at a second Spokane Valley address.  About 200 packs of "Ace" cigarettes taken from the Broadway Mini-Mart were also recovered.

Gibson's whereabouts are currently unknown.  He is a white male who is 5'6" tall and weighs 160 pounds.  He has brown hair and eyes.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is encouraged to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
