TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) - Officials with the Snake River Juvenile Detention Center in Twin Falls County are hoping to bring some new furry visitors to the center.
Detention center administrator Linda Mann has asked county commissioners to consider allowing volunteer dog handlers from Intermountain Therapy animals into the center once a week to help the kids cope with their problems, The Times-News reported.
Mann says the teens would be carefully screened to reduce the risk of injury to the animals, and the handlers would be screened as well.
