Winds, rains heading for Washington

Associated Press - November 4, 2009 11:25 AM ET

SEATTLE (AP) - The National Weather Service says a storm will blow into Western Washington on Thursday with gusty winds and rains that will fill rivers in Mason and Whatcom counties.

High winds are forecast for the coast, northwest interior and Cascades.

A flood watch is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon for Skokomish and Nooksack rivers.

Forecasters say unsettled weather will continue into next week as a series of disturbances move through Western Washington.

It should be a little calmer in Eastern Washington where breezy, cloudy weather is forecast through the weekend with a chance of valley rain showers and mountain snow showers.
