The crash occurred at milepost 455, and Hwy. 95 was blocked in both directions between Granite-Kelso Cut-Off Road and South 113 Road. The road remained blocked for about two and a half hours while police investigated the crash and rescue crews helped clear the scene.
ISP says a Dodge Intrepid, driven by 43-year-old Michael L. Johns of Athol, and a Jeep Liberty, driven by 27-year-old Jayme Ruben Shottanana of Bonners Ferry, collided around 5:15 p.m. Monday. Michael Johns was killed in the wreck, police say he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Jayme Shottanana was taken to Kootenai Medical Center with unknown injuries.
