SPOKANE, Wash.- Right now Avista crews are on the scene of a vehicle that crashed into a power pole at Indiana and Monroe. It happened just after midnight Wednesday morning. Witnesses say they heard a huge crash, then came outside to see someone running from a minivan, south on Madison Ave.
Spokane Police Officers looked for that suspect, but were unable to find him. Because of severe damage to the power pole and subsequent power line, Avista officials say they will shut power down in the area at 6:00 Wednesday morning. It is not clear when power will be restored.
The incident also has the intersection of Monroe and Indiana closed at the S-Curves until at least noon on Wednesday. SPD Officers are asking anyone whose morning commute normally takes them through that area to avoid that intersection.
Right now Spokane Police Officers are looking for a white male who was driving the minivan that crashed into the power pole. Witnesses say he may have been injured.
