
COLFAX, Wash. - An investigation by the Whitman County Sheriff's Office is underway after a woman was found unconscious and in a pool of blood on Pullman-Albion road early Wednesday morning.
A passer-by called authorities around 1:40 a.m. to report the woman lying in the road about a mile from the intersection of Highway 27 and Albion rd.
The woman, identified as 23-year-old WSU student Kristen Grindley, was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital and has since been transferred to Sacred Heart in Spokane.
Based on Grindley's condition, officials believe she may have either fallen from a car or have been struck by one.
