Two arrested after police pursuit

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Kootenai County Sheriff's deputies arrested two robbery suspects Sunday evening in the Dalton Gardens area, just north of Coeur d’Alene.

Justin R. Booth, 29 of Coeur d’Alene has been booked into the Kootenai County Jail on one charge each of Robbery, Grand Theft and Eluding.  Booth’s only previous booking was for domestic battery in 1999. Bodi C. Dotson, 19 of Coeur d’Alene has been booked into the Kootenai County Jail on one charge each of Robbery and Grand Theft. Dotson has no previous adult bookings. Both subjects will have first court appearance on Monday afternoon.

Initial reports indicate that a Kootenai County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling in the area of 15th and Dalton when he saw what appeared to be a robbery in progress at the Dalton Market at 5632 N. 15th Street in Dalton Gardens. The robbers, who were wearing masks and displaying a handgun, ran from the store, got into a vehicle and fled from the Deputy.

The Deputy pursued the suspects northbound on 15th street, around the Lookout Drive / Hayden View Loop, then back south on 15th street, until they turned east on Dalton Avenue.  Just east of 17th street, where there is a sign that indicates that the road is a dead end, the robbers tried to turn around, but the deputy rammed the suspect vehicle, ending the pursuit.

Both suspects were then taken into custody without further incident.

The vehicle that the robbers were driving had been reported stolen earlier in the afternoon in the City of Coeur d’Alene.

The suspects were all transported to Kootenai Medical Center to be evaluated prior to being booked in the Kootenai County Jail.  No one at the market was injured during the robbery.
