Kids who received their first dose of H1N1 vaccine now ready for a second dose

Posted:
SPOKANE, Wash. - For the H1N1 vaccine to be fully effective, children 9-years-old and younger need to get a second dose of the vaccine after 28 days.
That means kids who were vaccinated at the Spokane Arena clinic on October 24 are now eligible for a second dose.
“It is vital that children who qualify get a second dose of the H1N1 vaccine,” said Dr. Joel McCullough, Health Officer for the Spokane Regional Health District. “The vaccine is one of the best ways to protect kids from the swine flu which is striking children in large numbers.”

Parents are encouraged to contact their health care provider to schedule an appointment for a second dose of the vaccine or attend one of a number of free community clinics sponsored by the Spokane Regional Health District.
