The Gonzaga Bulldogs (3-1) came back from a 15-point deficit in the first half to beat Colorado (3-1) 76-72 in the opening round of the Maui Invitational.
Steven Gray led all scorers with 27. He added the spark the Zags needed in the second half to surge past the pesky Buffaloes. Gray shot 4-of-7 from three point range, hit 11-of-14 free throws and added in 4 rebounds.
Senior guard Matt Bouldin scored 21 on 6-of-11 shooting. He made all eight free throws he attempted. Robert Sacre scored 10, while Elias Harris chipped in 8.
The Zags were down 29-40 at halftime, mainly due to Colorado's hot outside shooting in the first half.
Gonzaga will advance to play the winner between Arizona and Wisconsin. The other games include Cincinnati against Vanderbilt and Maryland versus Chaminade.
