SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - A 65-year-old man who was shot by police after approaching two Spokane Valley police officers has been charged with assault.
The officers shot Donald Lafavor after responding to a domestic dispute call at an apartment in the 8900 block of E. Broadway on November 28.
When the officers arrived on scene, they were confronted by Lafavor who pointed a revolver at them. Officers Ryan Walter and Rustin Olson immediately drew their weapons and fired at Lafavor, striking him multiple times.

The Spokane Police department took the lead on the investigation and has charged Lafavor with two counts of 2nd Degree Assault.
Police say the gun was loaded when pointed at the officers.
