Last of meth ring defendants plead guilty in Wash.

Associated Press - December 9, 2009 3:35 PM ET

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - The last 3 of more than two dozen defendants charged in a prolific methamphetamine ring that spanned the West Coast have pleaded guilty.

Abraham Barragan-Zepeda and Rigoberto Garfias-Barragan, both of Shasta Lake, Calif., and Fernando Barragan-Zepeda, of Aberdeen, Wash., entered their pleas Monday in U.S. District Court in Tacoma to charges including conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Prosecutors say the Barragan family brought hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine from Artega, Mexico, through California to Western Washington, and they regularly used Garfias-Barragan's home in Northern California as a stash house.

They face up to 40 years in prison and a $2 million fine when they are sentenced next March.
