Groundbreaking at the cemetery (May 2009)MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. - A thief broke into the construction site of the new Veteran's Cemetery in Medical Lake over the weekend and stole a pair of Patron-brand electric heaters valued at more than $700 apiece.
A Bouten Construction employee told a Spokane County Sheriff's deputy that the site had been closed Friday, December 11 at about 4 p.m. When workers arrived Monday, they found a plywood cover on the north door that was held in place with nails rather than the screws originally used by construction employees.
The two heaters had been stolen from inside.
Anyone with information about the theft is encouraged to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
