
SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga redshirt freshman Andy Poling is leaving the Zags, the university said on Tuesday.
Poling, who averages less than four minutes per game, decided he wanted to go to another school where he'll get more playing time. He told coach Mark Few he wanted to leave after the team returned from their overtime win against Illinois in Chicago last Saturday.
"Andy is a great young man and a great teammate," said Few in a news release . "We'll miss him and wish him the best of luck."
Poling, from the Portland, Ore. area, appeared in six games this season and shot 4-of-5 from the field. He did not say where he intended to enroll after Gonzaga.
