First on KHQ: Pend Oreille Lake Boating Fatalities

SANDPOINT, Idaho - KHQ has learned the identities of two people killed in a boating accident Saturday night in Sandpoint. Darby Campbell, 30, and his wife Amber Campbell, 34, both of Sandpoint, died in the accident.

A third person survived the mishap. Gerred Campbell, who is 31, was taken to Bonner General Hospital.

The accident is still under investigation.

SANDPOINT, Idaho - Witnesses say two people are dead and one person was injured after a boating accident on Pend Oreille Lake just outside of Sandpoint late Saturday night.

According to residents, the accident happened just after 11:30pm Saturday night under the Long bridge. That's where a speedboat slammed into the cross members under the bridge, and wedged the boat between the supports. We're told by residents that the 2 people killed are a married couple in their thirties. The other man in the boat is said to have been released from the hospital Sunday morning.

Bonner County Sheriff's Department are still investigating and we will bring you the latest information as soon as it become available.
