The Mets said Bay's designation would be retroactive to July 26. That's the day the veteran outfielder suffered a concussion after crashing into the bullpen gate while catching a drive hit by Jamey Caroll. Bay went on to play the next two games, going 2-for-9 with four strikeouts.
The Mets said Bay has been bothered by headaches.
The team promoted Jesus Feliciano from Triple-A Buffalo to take Bay's place. Feliciano hit .291 with RBIs in 55 at-bats earlier in the season with the Mets. He was sent down to Buffalo to make room for Carlos Beltran.
Tri-City Americans' Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has signed 16-year-olds Justin Hamonic, Dylan Fluter and Gage Rapitta to standard WHL Players Contracts. More>>
