SEATTLEPI.COM - Fremont is reprising its fourth-annual Naked Pumpkin Run Sunday for Halloween -- and yes, it's exactly how it sounds.
Want to participate? You'll need a carved-out pumpkin and not much else. (A little courage couldn't hurt.)
A poster advertising the somewhat secretive event describes it this way: "Without a pumpkin, it would just be streaking."
I guess that's one way of looking at it.
Fremont is known for naked stunts, most notably its naked bike ride during the Fremont Solstice Parade. Of course, that's in June, and the Naked Pumpkin Run is at the end of October. Brrrr.
Organizers don't publish an official schedule for runners, who tend to be seen in the Fremont and Greenlake areas. To find out the plan for the day, you have to attend a pumpkin carving parting at 10 a.m. on Sunday. (The Fremont Universe blog posted the details here.)
Runs are held in Seattle, Boulder, and a few cities in California every Halloween.
