BUTTE, Mont. (AP) - The Montana woman shot and killed by an Idaho State Police trooper was wanted on a felony forgery charge. The Montana Standard reports 40-year-old Christie A. Little of
Butte did not show up for trial in October.
On Monday, an ISP trooper stopped a vehicle being driven by 24-year-old Mark Maykopet for speeding in northern Idaho. Officials say Maykopet led police on a chase after they discovered he was wanted for walking away from a Helena prerelease center in October.
Sometime during the chase, Maykopet rammed the patrol car and the officer fired shots at the vehicle, killing Little.
Little also had convictions for possessing morphine, identity theft and deceptive practices.
Maykopet, who also goes by the name Mark Macy, faces several felony charges and is jailed on $1.5 million bail.
