KHQ.COM - Expect snow accumulation up to 5" before Friday in the Northern Panhandle area. The heaviest snow will fall in the Idaho Panhandle and the foothills of the Blue Mountains where the National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WATCH until Thursday.
8-12" is expected to fall in the higher elevations around Kellogg, Wallace & St. Maries. 1 to 2 Feet of new snow is expected in the Idaho mountains as well as the Blue Mountains of Oregon. Along with the snow the winds will kick up Tuesday with the potential for gusts between 25-35 mph.
As if that weren't enough....An Arctic Blast of air will bring the coldest air we've seen since early January with temperatures checking a good 20° below average for this time of the year!
