NATIONAL SALES MANAGER - FT

KHQ-TV, America’s longest-tenured NBC affiliate, is seeking an experienced National Sales Manager (NSM). This is a rare opening for our family owned and operated station. It represents an important leadership role encompassing national and regional revenue management for our powerhouse broadcast and digital platforms. Our “dot 2” is regarded as one of the nation’s most unique and aggressive local sports media enterprises: “SWX.” Its schedule includes hundreds of station-produced live sporting events each year, including the Gonzaga Bulldogs. The ideal candidate is supremely organized with a keen attention to detail. Client engagement is a top priority. You must be able build client relationships, excel at broadcast sales negotiation, and possess the ability to juggle multiple challenges simultaneously. Job Responsibilities:

  • Set the overall tone for the national sales department by providing exemplary leadership in accordance with mutually agreed upon sales goals and priorities.
  • Lead our national rep firm sales team with clear direction on expectations and strategies.
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve national sales goals across multiple media platforms.
  • Work closely with the national rep firm on forecasting, negotiations and planning.
  • Coach and inspire our team of national reps to grow share.
  • Negotiate national/regional business, including political. This candidate should speak fluent “political.” In other words, you can quote the rules and regulations surrounding political selling and buying for candidates and issue advertisers.
  • Ability to work with the GSM on inventory management and pricing.
  • Strong communication and negotiation tactics (except when applying for this job).  


BROADCAST TECHNICIAN - FT

KULR-TV, the Cowles Montana Media station in Billings, MT has an opening for a Broadcast Technician. Duties include but not limited to the following:  Installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of broadcast, satellite, transmission systems and equipment. The ability to troubleshoot to the component level is required. Computer hardware and software experience is required along with network Admin experience. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision. The ability to maintain documentation as required by FCC regulations. This position will work closely with all departments to ensure smooth plant operations. This position does require some weekends, evenings and holiday scheduling.

TECHNICAL MEDIA PRODUCER - PT

KHQ-TV, the Inland Northwest's Local News Leader has an immediate opening for a part-time Technical Media Producer.  TMP’s as we call them are the true Swiss Army Knives of the KHQ newsroom. TMP's do everything from edit video, operate studio cameras, prepare the studio for broadcast, shoot breaking news, write web and newscast stories, and countless other responsibilities. So you have to be technically savvy, adaptable, and producer-minded. MORNING PRODUCER

Are you looking for an opportunity that could help you land a gig in the "bigs?"  This may be it!  We're looking for a dynamic producer to help lead the charge for a 2-hour state-wide morning newscast.  You'll help "Wakeup Montana" utilize a team of 5 reporters to deliver daily "live" hits of new, fresh, and unique content throughout the region.  This position is for a go-getter who understands strong, creative production, isn't afraid of breaking news, and loves the challenge of "live" TV.  If you have the skills, the passion, and the ability to make quick decisions, multi-task, get social/digital and work effectively under pressure, we want to hear from you!

Duties include producing as scheduled, writing and editing news copy, must meet deadlines and work well under pressure, possess good news judgment, positive can-do attitude and be a team player, ability to post to our various websites and social media platforms, and ability to use non-linear editing systems.

Qualifications include a broadcast journalism degree, previous line producing experience is a plus, strong writing and communications skills, being able to work with little direction, must be dependable and reliable, and maybe called for other special events such as elections, fires, floods and/or other major events.

MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST

KHQ-TV is looking for a Multimedia Journalist to join the Inland Northwest's largest, proudest news team. Are you a perfectionist?  Are you a control freak?  Do you love breaking news and want to be a super-star?  You'll cover breaking, develop and nurture local news contacts, enterprise unique content, and follow-up on news stories.  You will not only develop stories, but also shoot, write, and edit them for multiple media platforms.  We need a highly motivated individual who is well-versed in the rules of journalism, capable of working in a self-directed environment and able to exercise a high level of creativity and enterprise.  One to three years of experience is preferred.
