
Vern HeizerOKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. - Ex-Grant County teacher Vern Heizer of Nespelem was arrested again by detectives Friday, for stalking and violating a protection order.
Heizer was arrested earlier this year, on July 16, 2007, and booked on felony charges for communicating with a minor for immoral purposes, rape of a child 2nd degree, rape of a child 3rd degree, and child molestation 3rd degree.
Detectives received information that after Heizer bailed out of jail, he was still stalking the victim from the case he was previously arrested for. Heizer had been seen several times in the area of the victim's residence and at school by several different subjects.
On Friday detectives got an arrest warrant and found Heizer in the Nespelem area. He was taken to the Okanogan County jail where he awaits a court appearance. His bail has bee st at $100,000.
Heizer is also a Reserve Police Officer with a municipal law enforcement agency in Grant County.
