SPOKANE, Wash. - A young girl is in the hospital tonight after being trapped under a pile of snow that the fire dept. says may have fallen from a roof. At around 5:48 PM Tuesday Spokane Firefighters responded to a report of a child trapped beneath the snow in the 1600 block of East Rosewood Avenue. The first Firefighters on scene arrived within minutes and reported that the child had been freed; however Paramedics immediately began advanced medical intervention in preparation to transport the girl to the hospital.
Fire officials say the girl was reportedly playing below a snow covered roof of a structure and became trapped by several feet of snow when it fell due to the weight and pitch of the roof.
The girl was transported to a local Hospital by ambulance and was last listed in stable condition.
