    SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Police Department set up a bike sting in the Mission and Hamilton area on Wednesday in an effort to reduce property crime numbers and ended up making three arrests.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Police Department set up a bike sting in the Mission and Hamilton area on Wednesday in an effort to reduce property crime numbers and ended up making three arrests.  The area has seen numerous calls for thefts, burglaries, drug calls and assaults recently, according to the Spokane Police Department and the sting operation was put together by SPD Reserve Officers wanting to do their part to curb crime in the community.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - The Bureau of Land Management has placed a temporary ban on target shooting in eastern Washington as hot, dry conditions bring high dangers of fire in the area. The BLM says legal firearm hunting is still allowed. Target shooting activities have already contributed to several fires on BLM lands this summer burning over 2,000 acres.

With wildfire season raging on, emergency crews have relied on air attacks from planes that scoop water. They're called fire bosses and you won't want to be in between them and the water when a fire is nearby. "It's extremely dangerous and they are an emergency vehicle," said Howard Platter of Newman Lake.

A woman's story that went viral in the UK has made it right here to Spokane. 18-year-old Paige Hunter handwrote dozens of positive messages and posted them all over a bridge in England in hopes it would stop someone from committing suicide. So far, her messages have helped save nine lives.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - August means it's almost time for Friday night lights, but poor air quality meant high schools couldn't practice outdoors on Wednesday. Air quality was measured as "Unhealthy" by the Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency. Greater Spokane League rules prohibit teams from practicing outdoors when air conditions are found in the "Unhealthy" section.
