KHQ, SWX - Meet the KHQ Local News, SWX Local Sports Team - Spokane, North Idaho News & Weather KHQ.com

Leslie Lowe's broadcast career began in radio as the co-host of a top rated Adult Contemporary station back in 2001. She transitioned to television in 2003 as a weekend weather anchor and hasn't looked back since. In December of 2008, Leslie joined the KHQ weather team...just in time for record a breaking snow season!

Leslie has been seen and heard in numerous local and national television commercials as well as in motion pictures. And holds her Screen Actors Guild card. In addition she hosted the half-hour television program "Explorer Television" spotlighting areas around the Inland Northwest.

Leslie loves to meet and work with all of the amazing people in our area. And has proudly been involved with Candle Lighters, Spokane SIDS Foundation, Miss Spokane, Project Beauty Share and My Sister’s Closet, Leslie has delivered meals, for Meals on Wheels. And is thrilled to be the emcee for the Spokane Lilac Festival "Family Night" , "Coronation Program" and "Royal Tea Party". Some of her favorite moments have been jumping in to the freezing cold waters of medical Lake and rappelling down the 20 stories of the Bank of America building, all for the love of Special Olympics!

Leslie attended Central Oregon Community College, The American School of Broadcast and Mississippi State University.

When Leslie isn't working she can be found working out in some capacity, she loves running, cycling, Pilates and is hoping to find a little more time to golf! Leslie and her husband have raised their children here and are proud to call Spokane home.

Thursday Weather Update: Rain Today...Drying Up & Clearing Out Tomorrow

Evening/Overnight: Rain continues to fall (moderate at times). After midnight, rain continues to skirt through Idaho most of the night Small blotches of light rain will pester extreme E WA communities until the late evening, (YELLOW)

Friday: We say good-bye to most rain during the early morning (except for North Idaho's Bonner & Boundary Counties where showers will linger most of the day) and stiff 20-30mph winds will continue to blow. As high pressure moves into the area, there's gradual clearing by the afternoon, widespread clearing for the evening & into the beginning of the weekend…Low/High 39°/56° (GREEN)

Easter Weekend Outlook: One rotten egg in the forecast…Saturday night

Saturday's the best day for Easter egg hunters & for event organizers to rejoice…Mostly sunny with pastel blue skies & back into the 60's (GREEN)

Saturday night, a cold front sweeps through with some showers, then leaves behind a mixture of sun/clouds, breezy winds & temperatures topping out in the mid 50's for Easter

FYI: The U.S. House of Representatives passed the "Weather Forecasting Improvement Act of 2014" last week that would infuse $360 million into atmospheric programs between 2015-2017. After falling behind to the Europeans, this bill may help restore America's leadership in numerical weather prediction, forecasting and risk communication. We'll see how it does in the senate…
