WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR CENTRAL CASCADE VALLEYS AND
WATERVILLE PLATEAU...

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity...which is in effect
until 8 PM PDT this evening.

* Affected Area: Western Fire Weather Zone 673 East Washington
Northern Columbia Basin (Zone 673) and Fire Weather Zone 677
East Washington Central Cascade Valleys (Zone 677).

* Winds: Northwest 8 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph this morning
and afternoon. Increasing northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up
to 30 mph after 1500 pdt.

* Haines: Near 5 this morning decreasing to 2 by the evening.

* Relative Humidities: 15 to 20 percent.

* Impacts: Any ongoing or new fires will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Wednesday Night: after a few isolated thunderstorms & showers earlier in the evening, things will start to dry out and clear out! Temperatures overnight into the upper 50's and low 60's.

Thursday: One more relatively cooler day as temps once again expected to top out in the low 80s with mostly sunny skies.

Friday: More sun and getting warmer! We will heat up Friday afternoon into the mid to upper 80's with parts of the Basin pushing 90 degrees or higher!

7-Day Forecast: we are now starting our warm climb with temperature warming up thru the rest of the week. We will slowly get back to the mid to upper 80's as we head into the weekend with plenty of sunshine. Fourth of July is now in sight and its looking sunny with temperatures in the upper 70's to low 80's!

    CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. - UPDATE: June 27, 2:30 a.m. Crews say the grass fires burning about five miles southeast of Wenatchee, now known as the Spartan Fire, is 4500 acres in size and 10% contained. About three miles away from the Spartan fire is the Surtherland Canyon Fire, which has burned about 3,000 acres and is also 10% contained.

Paramedics found a man dead inside.

Our crews were on scene and heard the man tell firefighters and police that he was just swimming.
