KHQ, SWX - Meet the KHQ Local News, SWX Local Sports Team - Spokane, North Idaho News & Weather KHQ.com

Katie believes that everyone has a story to tell, so here’s hers!

She grew up in a small town in Minnesota near the Twin Cities. After graduating Hastings High School, she made the trek down south and attended the University of Missouri. Her career began at KOMU-TV and led her here to Spokane.

Sports is Katie's passion, she loves watching, playing, and working sports games. Absolutely everything and anything works for her.

Volleyball and alpine ski racing are close to her heart because she was on those teams in high school, but football, hockey, and baseball are pretty high on the list. She can’t wait for basketball to crawl up that list, especially when the Bulldogs are playing. Her favorite time of year is Olympic season…she just can’t wait for July!!

Katie loves telling stories. Nothing brings her more joy than to come into someone’s life and sharing their stories with others. Her favorites are about people living their lives, with something special to tell about it. They are about regular people, doing extraordinary things with their lives. There are so many people like that in Spokane, and she can’t wait to meet everyone! If you would like to tell your story or someone’s you know, please email her at katie.steiner@khq.com.
