Kelsey joined the KHQ news team as an anchor/reporter in April of 2012, and is excited to live and work in Spokane!
Before coming to KHQ, Kelsey anchored the top-rated morning newscast at KTVZ in Bend, Oregon. During her four years at KTVZ she covered major stories throughout the state, including the 4th Death Penalty Sentencing Trial for Oregon's most expensive prisoner, Randy Lee Guzek. She was also given the "Unsung Hero Award" from the Crooked River Ranch Fire Department for her coverage of its trainings and community programs.
One of her passions is child abuse prevention and education. While in Bend, Kelsey was blessed to serve as the media representative for KIDS Center, a child abuse intervention center which helps over 600 children each year. She also volunteered twice a week, and became a Darkness to Light facilitator, to help educate adults about how to better prevent child abuse.
Kelsey graduated Summa Cum Laude from Chapman University in Orange, California in 2007, earning a BFA in Television & Broadcast Journalism and a minor in political science. While there, she also worked with the City of Anaheim as a segment host/producer for "Anaheim Today," and as an executive producer for "Nightcap," Chapman University's late-night talk show.
Kelsey is originally from Portland, Oregon, and is an aspiring runner, "foodie," photographer, and adventurer!
