Amy's interest in weather came at a very young age. What started off as a fear of storms turned into a passion for weather and forecasting. Amy is a native of the Midwest, growing up in southern Minnesota and attending the University of Wisconsin- Madison, where she earned a degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science in May 2008. Amy is an avid Badger fan, and can be seen in red and white on game days.

Her Meteorology career began in Topeka, Kansas at WIBW-TV in 2008. She was with WIBW for three years, and while there she "saw it all." From the Christmas Eve Blizzard of 2009, to numerous severe weather events and tornado outbreaks- Amy has covered many weather phenomenons. Amy was even on an episode of Discovery Channel's "Storm Chasers" for coverage of the May 21, 2011 tornado in Topeka, KS.

When she's not forecasting the weather, Amy manages lululemon athletica in downtown Spokane. She is a passionate runner, and is impressed by the beautiful trails and landscapes of the Inland Northwest. She is a member of the Spokane Swifts running team and can be seen at most local races. Amy also delivers meals for Meals on Wheels and is a member of the Junior League of Spokane. In her down time, she enjoys watching sports, working out, doing yoga, reading and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to be a part of the KHQ Weather Authority team, and to call Spokane home.
