    SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Jurors who found that Roundup weed killer contributed to a school groundskeeper's cancer are urging a San Francisco judge not to throw out the bulk of their $289 million award in his favor. The San Francisco Chronicle reported Monday that juror Gary Kitahata told Judge Suzanne Bolanos in a letter that the jury was convinced by the evidence and she should honor its verdict.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police said the department's first Explosive Detection K9, Ryker, passed away over the weekend. The SPD K9 Unit Facebook page said in a Facebook post that K9 Ryker succumbed to an illness he had been battling for a number of weeks. The K9 unit said doctors were unable to diagnose or defeat the illness.

    SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - The latest campaign finance report for eastern Washington's U.S. House seat shows that Republican U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Democratic challenger Lisa Brown have raised more than $9 million between then. By the period ending Sept. 30, McMorris Rodgers had raised $5.1 million and Brown has raised a total of $4.6 million. Brown's money is the most ever raised by a challenger to the seven-term incumbent.
