    LOS ANGELES (AP) - Former rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight has pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter and after he ran over two men, killing one, nearly four years ago.    The Death Row Records co-founder entered the plea Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court and has agreed to serve 28 years in prison.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - People who want straws with their drinks at California restaurants will have to ask for them under a new state law.    The law signed Thursday by Gov. Jerry Brown makes California the first state to bar full-service restaurants from automatically giving out single-use plastic straws. It takes effect next year.

    FAIRFAX, Va. - Police in Fairfax County, Virginia, arrested a woman Tuesday after she yelled at a security guard and hit him with a fanny pack, and threatened him with a knife. Following her arrest, police searched the fanny pack and found a pigeon inside. The pigeon was not hurt. Police say they were called to the Social Security Administration building around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday for a report of the woman yelling at employees.
