SPOKANE, Wash. - Emily Swenson says she woke-up to pounding on her front door this morning. The man at the door told her he was carjacked and needed help.

"I was kind of scared, I didn't know what to think," she said.

The man told Swenson he needed to borrow her phone to call 911 after he was carjacked.

"His head had like some blood or something, on it and then there was rope or something marks on his neck," she said.

Authorities say the victim was carjacked just blocks from Swenson's home by two people he met just hours before.

The two suspects met the man at Ace's Casino in North Spokane, according to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office.

The suspects asked the man for a ride to their pick-up trick when they stole the man's car and kicked him out near the 900 block of North Perry.

The man told Swenson they had a gun as she let him inside to use her phone.

Police spotted the stolen 2002 Acura about one hour later. They followed the car for a short distance before it sped away, lost control and crashed into a tree.

The driver, identified Marjorie Harrigan, 24, was killed instantly, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Authorities identified her as the female suspect in the overnight carjacking. An afternoon autopsy is expected to confirm her identity and cause of death, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The male suspect, was identified as 30-year-old transient Michael Olson.  Olsen was not in the car at the time of the crash and was arrested by Spokane Police officers about 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Olsen was located on foot near the intersection of Francis and Addison and arrested without incident.    Investigators had developed information that Olson was in that area of Spokane and found him walking north on Addison.

Olson now faces felony counts of First-Degree Robbery and First-Degree Assault.  He was booked directly into the Spokane County Jail Friday night.
