
MOSES LAKE, Wash. - REC Silicon plant fire crews were able to extinguish a Tuesday morning fire inside the plant without the release of any chemicals and without any injuries.
The fire broke out around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the plant located at 3322 Rd. N NE near Moses Lake and was put out by REC crews by 11:45 a.m.
Crews from the Moses Lake Fire Department responded to provide assistance to REC fire crews, but were not directly involved in fighting the fire.
The Department of Ecology was notified and Grant County Emergency Management monitored the situation.
REC Silicon produces solar grade silicon and wafers for solar applications.
