SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.- Right now Spokane Valley Police Officers are looking for one suspect after a home invasion robbery in the 12400 block of E. Mansfield Ave.
According to officers, it happened just before 11:00 Monday night when two men burst into a woman’s apartment, forced her into a closet at gunpoint, then proceeded to rob her. They managed to take at least a laptop computer, a cell phone, and a television.
Spokane Valley Police say a neighbor of the victim called 911 to report the robbery. The female victim said the two black males wearing black ski masks entered her unlocked door with guns, then forced her into the closet. Right now there is no word on why they targeted her.
After the two suspects left, Police officers stopped a car in the 11700 block of E. Montgomery Drive. During that traffic stop, one black male jumped out of the car with a handgun and fled the area. The other occupants remained in the vehicle and were detained after backup officers arrived on scene.
One of those people that remained in the car was arrested and charged in connection with the home invasion. He is identified as Darius D. Toussiant, arrested for first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary.
After a short pursuit and K9 search turned up nothing, officers cleared the area. That second suspect remains at large. He is described as a black man, mid 20’s, 6’-1”, 160 lbs, black hair, and brown eyes wearing black baggy jeans, dark jacket, and a black ski mask.
Anyone with information regarding the outstanding suspect is encouraged to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
