GRANT COUNTY, Wash. - A Grant County man ran one of three burglary suspects over and his cousin exchanged shots with them after the pair returned home Monday night to find a burglary in progress.
Steele Brown and his cousin Daniel arrived back at Brown's home in the 19000 block of Road 6, southwest of George, to find a masked man standing next to a car and two other suspects attempting to run from his house.
Brown, fearing for his safety, attempted to speed past a car parked in his driveway. As Brown drove past the car, the masked suspect opened the door on the parked car causing Brown to hit the door and the masked man.
As Brown continued, the suspects fired shots at his car and that's when Daniel grabbed his gun and returned fire.
No one was hit in the exchange.
The sheriff's office is still searching for the three suspects. Deputies did recover a stolen .22 caliber handgun from the scene.
The sheriff's office is searching for an older gray Pontiac sedan in connection with the burglary.
