WASHINGTON (AP) - India's prime minister, Manmohan Singh, has arrived in Washington for a visit to be highlighted by an official welcoming ceremony and a state dinner at the White House with President Barack Obama.

Singh's aircraft touched down Sunday afternoon at Andrews Air Force Base outside of the District of Columbia.

Singh's agenda includes a luncheon address Monday to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the U.S.-India Business Council. Later Monday, he is to speak to the Council on Foreign Relations and the Woodrow Wilson International Center.

The state dinner for Singh on Tuesday night is the first to be hosted by Obama. The two leaders are scheduled to meet earlier in the day at the White House.
