SPOKANE, Wash. - A 60-year-old man who died after being struck by a car as he was crossing a Spokane street Friday night has been identified.
Police say Edgar Trantum was walking across Division, near the 9600 block, in an unmarked crosswalk when he was hit by a southbound car shortly before 7 p.m.
Trantum was transported to Sacred Heart to undergo surgery for what authorities called life threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.
The driver that hit Trantum remained at the scene and was interviewed by police. That driver may face charges pending further investigation.
