STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. - A Stevens County workshop used by logging contractors has been ruled a complete loss after a fire broke out in the industrial structure around 2:30 p.m. Friday.
The workshop is located off of Larson Rd and is north of Two Rivers Casino.
There were no injuries reported in the blaze, though industrial equipment, including a number of forklifts was lost. A semi-truck had been inside the building but was moved out before the fire started.
Crews on scene reported explosions during the fire and say propane and other explosive gases were stored in the facility.
The nearest fire department is located in Hunters, more than 15 miles away, and as such, it took crews a substantial amount of time to arrive on scene.
While the workshop was a complete loss, fire crews were able to save a home adjacent to the structure.
