SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane police say a man arrested with the help of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, police may be responsible for fraud cases across the country involving Craigslist.
Police say 26-year-old Joshua J. Mulvey would advertise items, persuade buyers to send money and then fail to turn over the goods.
Last Thursday, detectives executed a search warrant on Mulvey's apartment in the 6900 block of N. Wiscomb, but Mulvey was able to crawl into the attic space of a neighboring apartment and flee out a second story window.
Detectives tracked him to a Coeur d'Alene Motel 6 Tuesday night where he was arrested for investigation of theft.
Detectives feel there are more victims of Mulvey's fraud and hope that anyone who recognizes Mulvey or his behavior patterns will call police to make a report.
Mulvey's victims stretch over the last six months and all over the United States from Spokane to Seattle to Miami, Florida.
