The suspect in a car chase is wheeled into a medical helicopter after crashing his vehicle at Highway 2 and Day-Mt. Spokane Road
SPOKANE, Wash. - Highway 2 north of the Spokane City limits was shut down briefly Tuesday morning so a MedStar helicopter could land at the scene of a car wreck. They were responding to help the injured suspect in a police chase that ended with a crash into a business at Day-Mt. Spokane Road.
Police were attempting to stop the chase by laying down spike strips on the road. But the driver lost control and crashed into several parked vehicles at Beeline Automotive. The MedStar helicopter flew him to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
The original pursuit began in Spokane Valley and was called off and restarted more than once for safety reasons.
