SCRAPS launches Myspace page for spokes-dog

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service (SCRAPS) announced the launch of a MySpace profile for Scraps, the service's "spokes-dog."  Children and adults can add Scraps as a friend, knowing that they're building a friendship and learning tips on how to be a responsible pet owner.

SCRAPS, however, is taking steps towards changing the safety concerns being online networking.  By creating a profile for their spokes-dog, Scraps, there is now a more fun, safe, and educational member whom everyone can befriend.

With a blog feature on each site, friends of Scraps will receive updates on pet health and veterinary care, adoption procedures, and even a featured "pet of the month" from the SCRAPS adoption agency.  Additionally, the "Wall" or comment features of the site allows for personal interaction between kids, adults and the staff of SCRAPS.

The five key points promoted by SCRAPS are:

1.)    ADOPT your next best friend from an animal shelter.

2.)    LICENSE your pet - prove that you care.

3.)    VOLUNTEER - spend some time, make a difference, have some fun!

4.)    DONATE - help homeless pets in the community.

5.)    SPAY/NEUTER your pet to control the pet population.
