Anti-war hacker attacks Idaho School District website

Posted: Updated:

BOUNDARY COUNTY, ID - Computer users logging in to check the Boundary County School District website Wednesday, the 5th anniversary of the Iraq War, were shocked to find anti-war propaganda including anti-Israeli messages and photos of dead Iraqi children.

As we recognize the 5th anniversary of the Iraq War, what are your thoughts? Are we making good progress? Should U.S. troops remain in Iraq? Join the KHQ&A discussion and let us know.

The hacker, identified as "nEt^DeViL" said they were "Asking for Peace in the World - Plz, NO WAR - NO HATING!" After the page loaded the song "Last Breath" by pro-Islam artist Ahmed Bukhatir played as the lyrics scrolled down the page. Another line on the page said "Peace to the whole world except Israel and Denmark," who the hacker called terrorist countries.

The hacker left his email address and a link to the Islamic website www.islamway.com. As a tribute "net_devil" also left the names of other hackers.

The hacker said the website was attacked simply because the site wasn't very secure. One line on the page said "I'm just testing my tools on your server."

The hacker stated that no data was deleted, and that only some minor editing was done. Boundary County School District officials confirmed this to be the case, saying the attacker placed a "redirect" on the El Paso-based web server that hosts the school district's website.

School officials said the minor damages would likely be repaired in a day.

KHQ found two other websites apparently attacked by the same hacker:

On both websites, the author of the attack denounces Denmark for disrespecting other religious beliefs, calls for peace, respect and an end to war.
