SPOKANE, Wash.- On Wednesday morning, at about one, a drunk driver crashed her car and ended up facing the wrong way on I-90.
Authorities say that when the woman, in her late twenties, was entering the on-ramp going westbound at Trent and Hamilton, she hit the guardrail on the right and lost control of the vehicle.
She then spun around and ended up facing the wrong way in the westbound lanes of I-90. A semi-truck driver driving eastbound witnessed the woman trying to leave the scene, and detained her until police showed up.
Authorities say that at the time of the incident, the suspect's blood alcohol level was more than four times the legal limit.
They say that she refused medical attention, even though she was already bruising on her face, and had a bloodied lip. Her injuries are minor, but police say it could have been much worse. She had a baby carseat in the back of the car, and fortunately the baby was safe at home.
The woman will face charges of Driving While Under the Influence (DUI).
