SPOKANE, Wash. - One woman was taken to a hospital with injuries and a father and son were arrested Friday morning after a road rage incident in North Spokane.
Dispatchers received a call about two males beating up a female with a baseball bat around 11:20 a.m. Officers arrived within three minutes of the 911 call and arrested 42-year old Rodney K. Bambino and his son 19-year old Anthony G. Bambino for misdemeanor assault.
Police investigation revealed that the suspects followed the female victim to Market and Fairview, upset because she was driving erratically, hitting the curb, and cutting-off other vehicles.
Witnesses said the suspects approached the victim's car when she pulled into a parking lot and started hitting her with their fists. After being punched in the face several times the victim was able to get out through her driver's door window. A physical fight then continued outside the car.
The Bambinos then got a baseball bat from their vehicle prompting the female victim to pull out a box-cutter type knife to defend herself.
Police officers arrived a short time later.
The 45-year old female victim was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries to her face and head.
