SPOKANE Wash. - A young mother is under arrest after police say she left her sleeping 3 year-old daughter in an unlocked vehicle for about an hour to go shopping.
Police arrested 25 year-old Breeana S. Wilson and charged her with reckless endangerment of a child after they say the woman left the sleeping girl alone in the car while she was in the Burlington Coat Factory Store located in the 5800 block of north Division.
When the girl woke up and found that her mother was gone she began to call out for her and honked the car's horn. A brother and sister shopping at the center noticed the girl and walked over to find out if she was okay. The girl told the siblings she didn't know where her mom was and that she wanted her. The siblings called the police who arrived as the mother was coming out of the store.
The mother was arrested and transported to jail and the girl was released into the custody of her father.
Police say the temperature was 46 degrees outside at the time the little girl was left alone in the car.
