Thief chased down by teenagers

SPOKANE, Wash. - While some teenagers find themselves chasing good times at the beach during spring break, three Spokane teens found themselves chasing a thief after witnessing a robbery Monday morning.

"My friends came running and they were like, chase him, chase him. He just robbed someone," said 13-year-old Jacob.

Jacob and his friends Payden and Tim chased the suspect for nearly nine blocks after seeing a suspect push a man to the ground and steal a brown pouch that contained receipts.

The suspect eventually got tired and sat on the street. The teens said he told them he made a mistake and was tired of running.

One of the teens called 911 from his cell phone.

Police arrived minutes later and arrested the suspect for strong armed robbery, according to Spokane Police.

The receipts were returned to the victim who thanked the teens for their help.
