ROSALIA, Wash. - Hundreds of friends and family attended a public memorial service Saturday afternoon for a 2-year-old boy who is missing and presumed dead.  The service for Avery Blakely took place in the Rosalia High School gym and people from all over the country attended to say goodbye to the little boy.

Authorities believe Blakeley wandered away from his yard while the family was in the process of moving and fell in a creek.

Sheriff Brett Myers said last week a slipper found at Pine Creek matched the slippers the boy was wearing when he disappeared near the town of Malden.

The Whitman County Sheriff called off the search the missing 2-year-old boy last week. The search, which began Thursday March 26th around 12:30, was called off at 3 p.m. Friday March 27th. Officials say Blakeley is presumed dead.

The sheriff said more than 75 searchers looked for the boy on March 27th, but divers were unable to enter the creek which was murky and running full.
