May is Older Americans Month - it is also Elder Abuse Prevention Month. The Silver Ribbon Campaign is intended to bring awareness to and to help stop the abuse of elderly or disabled people.
During the month of May, AtHome Care is asking you to support the Silver Ribbon Campaign and wear a Silver Ribbon as a symbol that you can make a difference concerning the issue of abuse, neglect and exploitation of the elderly and disabled.
AtHome Care is hosting a Silver Ribbon Event to kick off the campaign on Wednesday, May 6th, 2009 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Corbin Senior Center.
City Council Members, Mayor Verner, Aging and Long Term Care of Eastern Washington, Elder Services, Aging Professionals, paid and unpaid caregivers and all of the general public are invited. The hope is to see as much of the community as possible join in support of this cause.
Spread the word -- and we hope to see you May 6th at Corbin Senior Center!
