Chiefs bow out in game 7 loss at Vancouver

VANCOUVER, B.C. - Gary Nunn's redirect goal 1:56 into overtime lifted the Vancouver Giants to a 1-0 overtime win over the Spokane Chiefs in game seven of their Western Conference semi-final Tuesday night in Vancouver, B.C. Vancouver advanced the to Western finals winning the series 4-3 and ended the Chiefs season.  

Neither team was able to score in the first period as Vancouver outshot the Chiefs 12-9 in the period. Each club was 0-1 on the power play.  

The second period finished scoreless as the Giants outshot Spokane 14-10 in the second. The Chiefs had the only power play of the period, but failed to score.  

The third period also went scoreless as the Giants once again outshot Spokane 13-8. The Chiefs again had the only power play of the period, but could not score.  

The Giants would get the game winner just 1:56 into overtime as Nunn redirected Nick Ross shot over the left shoulder of Tokarski.  

The loss ended the careers of Chiefs Justin McCrae, Brady Calla, and Trevor Glass.
