Amber Alert issued for 2-week-old boy canceled

TONASKET, Wash. - An Amber Alert  issued for a 14-day-old child that authorities say was abducted in violation of a court order to place the child in specialized foster/medical care has been canceled. Joshua Pier has been diagnosed with PKU metabolic disorder that impairs his ability to process amino acids. Authorities reported earlier Wednesday there was an imminent threat to his health.

Authorities say the child's mother, 18-year-old Gretchen Pier took the child.

The pair was last seen Monday afternoon in the 200 block of Tonasket Ave.

WSP dispatch said the boy was located in Sedro-Wooley Wednesday and was safely recovered, Gretchen Pier turned herself in to Skagit County Sheriffs Office.
